Who is Essential Norfolk Tours Aimed At?
Essential Norfolk Tours is aimed at the discerning traveller - the kind of person who is inquisitive about the world and wants to find out what makes a place so special.
It is also ideal for the first time traveller to England who wants to get a feel for the country through spending time in a specific rural area. We want to show you the
best that our area of East Anglia has to offer.
What Kind of Things are on Offer?
Just about everything imaginable from relaxing days by the sea (weather permitting of course), to long country walks, typical British pub lunches, birdwatching, trips on the Norfolk Broads and visits to historic sights in the area such as country houses, castles, churches and cathedrals. And if
you fancy something else not listed in our venues just let us know.
How Do I Find Out Where I Can Go?
Simply visit the venues section of this web site to get an idea of things to do and
places to visit. Why not have a look at our sample itineraries to get an idea what
can be included. But remember the programme is entirely up to you. We can also cater
for the less able visitor.
What is the cost?
This depends entirely on the tour that is put together
exclusively for you. Each tour will be different and the cost will depend on a number
of things such as distances travelled, entry fees, entertainment etc. Once we have your
list of venues you wish to visit we will quote you that all important final price.
There will then be no hidden extras other than money you might wish to spend on shopping
and additional drink and food other than that provided. In general terms you will
be looking at a figure between £1,100 and £1,300 (these figures exclude air fares).
What is included?
Everything is included apart from the air flights which are left for you to organise
at your convenience. This way the time and mode of travel is down to you. Once you
touch down in England, however, we will be there to ensure your holiday is a success.
We will pick you up from the airport, arrange accommodation according to your wishes,
arrange all the transport and pick-
What Kind of Accommodation Will Be Available?
We have three kinds of accommodation available.
If you prefer added luxury we can arrange for double or single rooms at a country
hotel about six miles outside the city of Norwich. The hotel has restaurants and a
health and leisure club. The health and leisure club is open seven days a week and
is available free of charge to residents. If you prefer we can organise accommodation
at a more modest bed and breakfast. England is renowned for providing Bed and Breakfast accommodation in
modern homes where the day always starts with a full English breakfast. We can also
provide accommodation in a budget local motel.
How Long are the Holidays?
Essential Norfolk Tours runs throughout the year, although visitors need to be aware
of the 'Good Old English Weather'. We can arrange holidays of any length and starting
any day of the week. The minimum stay is three days but the maximum is up to you.

Basically the county of Norfolk is 'the bit that sticks out' in Eastern England. Norfolk
is a county of great contrast but very rural in nature. It boasts 93 miles of superb
coastline from the extremely busy holiday resort of Great Yarmouth to the scenic small
resorts of Cromer and Sheringham and places like Blakeney and Cley which are ideal
for walking and bird watching. Inland the city of Norwich dates back to the Domesday
Book and has an historic castle and cathedral. There are a number of outstanding small
market towns and specialised areas such as Breckland and the Norfolk Broads. We are
also happy to go further afield to other places of interest in East Anglia including Cambridge,
Bury St Edmunds and Ely. Again visit the venues section for full details.
Norfolk and East Anglia has a moderate climate, not known for excessive heat or cold, although
global warming does seem to be having an effect of bringing later summers. The hottest
months are in the summer from June to September with temperatures mainly in the 20's
or low 30's. Autumn is generally from September to November, winter from December to
February and Spring from March to May. Temperatures in the winter can dip below zero
and we do have wind and rain. Overall the climate is very mild and pleasant, however.
Spring, summer and autumn are the best times to visit us -
Essential Norfolk Holidays is based in the village of Hethersett
which is just outside
Norwich. Hethersett has plenty of local amenities including supermarkets, a doctors
